There are a myriad of federal, state and local laws that regulate the employment relationship. Terry possesses broad knowledge of the employment and labor laws, guiding employers through the maze of laws and regulations, including:

Terry provides employers with sound and cost effective advice in managing any employment and labor issues, including assisting clients in establishing human resource management policies before a potential problem arises. She drafts Employee Handbooks and employment policies and procedures. Terry also drafts, reviews and negotiates individual employment contracts, severance agreements, and reductions in force. 

 

If workplace disputes cannot be resolved through negotiation, Terry has experience representing employers against discrimination claims, whistleblower and wrongful discharge claims. She also has litigated breach of contract issues and the enforcement or defense of restrictive covenants and non-competition agreements. ​

 

Terry assists business attorneys with due diligence on employment and labor issues in merger and acquisition transactions. 

 

Additionally, Terry conducts HR Compliance Audits on an employer's workplace policies and procedures for a flat fee. These audits identify any major deficiencies and make recommendations on how to avoid potential problems in the future. She also has experience in conducting workplace investigations in cases of discrimination, harassment, workplace violence and other complaints.

 

Terry handles traditional labor matters, including labor grievances and arbitrations, unfair labor practice, and representation hearings before the National Labor Relations Board ("NLRB"). She has also negotiated (or provided advice to negotiators of) collective bargaining agreements.
